Unravel the Mystery
It cannot be done on our own. Having the intuitive ability to sense the spirit world, we cannot know the true identity of a spirit being. We cannot unravel mysteries, the mystery of God, or the mystery of the devil. We need God: His revelation, His Spirit to empower us with the cognitive ability to discover mysteries and to discern spirits if they are angels or demons.
Physical and Spiritual World
On-site, God activated my intuitive and cognitive ability to sense the spirit world, meaning He led me to the battleground unaware.
Tagging along with a pastoral council elder, I had the privilege of teaching how to hear God’s voice to various evangelical churches. They were the battleground.
Demonic Attack
In one of the evangelical churches in Bicol, I had the opportunity to see hordes of demons. It was my first time.
The first session of the seminar started with praise and worship led by a young man and a young lady. While the congregation was singing, the Lord opened my spiritual eyes to see a vision of the young man and young lady having an immoral relationship.
Discreetly, I shared with the pastor’s wife hosting the seminar the vision. Because she fully trusted them, she did not believe me. As a result, I was banned from teaching. I went back to the guesthouse and stayed alone there while the seminar was going on. In a little while, I saw demons, hordes of them, small demons disturbing my peace and terrifying me. With chills and goosebumps, I stood on my ground, combatting them, invoking God’s presence and power. And relentlessly praying in tongues. Apparently, they were held at bay, blocked at the gate, unable to enter the property. God was shielding me from being oppressed and harmed.
Months later, news came to me that the young lady was pregnant. My discernment was confirmed, and I felt vindicated.
Looking back after many years in the ministry of healing and deliverance, when I received God’s revelation of the illicit affair, I should have waited on the Lord’s strategy in dealing with their sin. Slated to teach on hearing God’s voice, I should have waited on my slot to teach and activate the congregation to discern. The church would have experienced the gift of discernment. Sins, not only of the young man and young lady but also of the church leaders and members, would have been exposed and repented, ushering them to their healing and deliverance. But I missed that.
Moving forward, I learned a lot in the prophetic season: the amazing divine strategies in various situations. That’s why hearing from God is quite essential. Not doing our own thing.
Spiritual Sensitivity
If you happen to be in a creepy house or building, and it gives you chills and goosebumps, your spirit is sensing the spirit world. It is more likely that you are sensing the presence of a demon there.
Goosebumps can be triggered either by fear or joy. In a creepy atmosphere, it is triggered by fear. In a pleasant atmosphere, it is triggered by joy.
Goosebumps is a feeling, not an emotion.
When God created man, He created him with a body and spirit. So, we are both physical and spiritual beings living on earth. God created the physical universe; it is our physical world, and it is also our spiritual world. We live in both worlds: the physical and spiritual world.
We can see, feel, touch, hear, smell, and taste the physical world with our physical being. Likewise, it is our spiritual being that can see, feel, touch, hear, smell, and taste the spiritual world. But not all humans have the spiritual ability to do that or to relate with the spiritual world, though the potential is there. It has to be unlocked.
Whatever you feel, don’t ignore it or shrug it off. Learn. Seek God’s revelation.
Distinction Between Feelings and Emotions
Let me disect feelings and emotions
First, feelings stimulate emotions.
Second, emotions react to feelings.
Third, feelings and emotions mix.
Fourth, feelings and emotions combined become interchangeable. We feel the emotion; we emote the feeling.
My Understanding on What Feeling is
Feeling is a physical and spiritual sense picked up by our sensors. So we feel what we touch and what touches us. Our feelings define the nature of the touched object.
God created us with a body and a spirit. So, we, human beings, are also spirit beings existing on earth. As a whole, our physical and spiritual world is the entire universe.
God created our physical and spiritual body with sensors.
Having both a body and a spirit, we have the ability to sense the physical and spiritual characteristics of a living or non-living thing we touch or that is touching us. That intuitive sense triggers our feelings. Our cognitive feelings define the felt objects. They define: if a spirit is a demon or an angel, if a place is holy or defiled, if a person is telling the truth or is lying, and so on. With this function and responsibility, discernment is our divine anointing to unlock healing and deliverance. There are situations where healing and deliverane are instant. There are also situations where it takes days to combat evil in a large scale.
Our human Spirit is Intuitive
Our spirit has the ability to sense the spirit world. The sixth sense or third eye theory is unbiblical.
My biblical point of view: we can sense the spirit world beause we are also spirit beings.
Our spirit has also five spiritual sensors. These enable us to sense the spirit world.
Therefore, feeling is a sensation triggered by something real, existing in the physical and spiritual world, detected by our physical and spiritual sensors.
Discernment requires both Intuititive and Cognitive Abilities
Intuitive Sense of Sight can be Deceived
Demons are deceivers. They can appear as an angel of light. But they can only disguise their appearance. So they can only deceive our sense of spiritual sight.
Demons cannot Deceived Feelings
Their evil and wicked characteristics is their nature. Demons cannot transform or make their evil nature become holy. This means, they are distinguishable when we feel their presence.
Physical Pain and Illness
When the Lord anointed me as a sign and a symbol, He brought me to the battleground. Each battleground gave me the opportunity to sense, most of the time, by feelings, the existence of demons, and their oppression and control on people.
So when I sense the atmosphere infested with demons, there is pain on my body. It alerts me to get Divine revelation. The Divine revelation I received gave me the cognitive ability to identify spirits by my feelings.
To avoid confusion whether our feeling is something physical or spiritual, we must be free from any health issues. Illness can be both physical and spiritual, so we have to consult a doctor, and at the same time, get Divine revelation.
Failure to undergo medical consultation and experties may lead to spiritual blunder. I learned that illness must be managed by doctors while we are seeking revelation from God in order to move in His anointing in dealing with spiritual issues in the spirit realm.
Illness, A symbol for Spiritual Battle
During the Asean Summit for Children held in Manila in July 1996, our son, Jem, got ill. We had just come from a spiritual warfare conference in Bicol where we had the blessed opportunity of sharing with local pastors concerning identification of spirits, notably that of the spirit of Death. Now we are glad to be home with our five precious children after a 3day absence. Thus followed a vibrant exchange of report from the homefront and the battlefront. Then Jem casually mentioned this vague pain on his abdomen. My wife, a medical doctor, tells him to go to the bathroom and relieve himself. Whether there was complete relief from that trip-to-the-cr treatment, it did not seem to bother us who were excited about our reunion. The day passed, then night. At dawn, he creeps to our bed and say the pain recurred twice that night and he vomited. This was when my wife’s medical mind automatically ticking the signs and symptoms entered the presumptive diagnosis: Acute Appendicitis. Then the voice: I will heal him without operation.
My wife, managing the medical needs, also consulted her classmate colleagues in the medical profession, while I organized our prayer warriors. It was a tough battle, both physically and spiritually. Emotions get intense. Fear sometimes creeps in but we stood on God’s word that we heard audibly. We stormed heaven. After several days, he got healed.

Battle vs. Molech
Spiritually, his illness was symbolic of the demonic attacks on children worldwide. The principality we unmasked was the demon molech. Prayer targets were issues on abortion, child trafficking, child abuse, exploitation, rebellion, etc..
Phantom Pain on the Breast
She sought medical help from specialists in Australia. Their diagnosis: negative. Doctors found nothing. But her pain on the breast kept tormenting her. Days, weeks, and months passed. Even their relentless prayers for her healing did not make any difference. Her husband, the senior pastor, whom I met through Pastor Felix, shared this with me. After hearing his story, the Lord spoke to me. Her breast-pain is symbolic. It is symbolizing the problem of intimacy among husbands and wives. Prayers should target this issue in Australia, then her pain will disappear.
Her husband relayed the Lord’s message to her. After several days, I came to know that her pain disappeared after she and their church’s prayer warriors gave heed to the Lord’s message.
We Are A Sign and A Symbol. Zechariah 3:8
While I was reading the Book of Zechariah, the Lord highlihted chapter 3.
Zechariah 3:8 NLT
8“Listen to me, O Jeshua the high priest, and all you other priests. You are symbols of things to come. Soon I am going to bring my servant, the Branch.
The angel speaking to Jeshua was speaking to me the same message. And it has something to do with spiritual warfare, healing, and deliverance.
Prophetic Feelings and Prophetic Role-Playing
Feelings in my body serve as the prophetic signs and symbols revealing what God wanted me to know. My wife, who is a medical doctor, is my consultant about human anatomy, symptoms, and illnesses. She comes in handy when I feel something in my body. Together, we discern as a team: me, the feeler, and she, the explainer. Because of this team anointing, demons, secret sins, and issues are exposed and dealt with. But we don’t operate in this anointing alone; amazingly, we saw that for those who come under our mantle, the anointing also ativates them as prophetic signs and symbols.
In one of the churches where we conducted a seminar during our Mindanao Spiritual Warfare Tour, Pastor Nathan, a member of our team, led the congregation in worship. Moments later, He felt a strong feeling of resentment toward me. Immediately, the Lord revealed its meaning; God spoke to my mind. Pastor Nathan and myself were prophetically role-playing. He was symbolizing the worship leader of the church and I was symbolizing the church pastor. So I asked the worship leader and the pastor to come forward. The worship leader confessed. He resented the pastor. The issue: the pastor’s habitually interruption while worship is going on disturbed him and he resented it. In moments like this, God’s grace is powerfully felt. Hearts break. Repentance flows. Deliverance and healing follow. Relationships are mended.
Prophetic role-playing is two-fold: dramatizing the problem and the solution. As role players, we act and emote the feelings of the characters we are symbolizing. This requires us to be vigilant of our role-playing in order to regard the drama as a classic symbol of someone’s problem, not ours. My wife and I have seen this occasionally. We pick up issues in the spirit realm. We role-play them. Sometimes, we had unresolved issues stemming out. The drama exposes it. As role-players, we are also cleansed from the inside out. What we role-played served as a prophetic gesture, unlocking the gates of heaven for the Divine Will to manifest on earth. The repentance, retribution, and healing role-played break any human or demonic barriers. The anointing, transcending time and space, reaches the characters with problems we were symbolizing, wherever they are. As warriors behind the scenes, people do not need to know we fought for them in the spirit world. Because the glory belongs to God.
Emotion is a Reaction to Feelings
The Lord led me to understand my emotions; that emotion is a choice—distinct from feelings. We feel our emotions. We emote our feelings. They mix; but as we grow, God wants us to develop intelligent emotions. We align our emotions to God’s in moments of divine grief or joy, or in any occassion where emotion becomes divine as a powerful force to subdue evil.
For example, when our feelings get hurt, we could choose to emote anger or not to emote it. In the Lord, we choose to stay calm, stay humble, and emote peace. Because of this choice, heaven opens. God’s grace encompasses us. Our emotion becomes Divine. The oppressive atmosphere transforms to serenity. Demons of strife and rage cannot prevail. The furious human spirit is set free. The anointing broke the yoke of rage and fury.
The Anesthetic Power of Divine Grace
After preaching at a Baptist church and sharing on the gifts of the Spirit, the church elder reprimanded me. She argued that my teaching was false. I did not see that coming. But God’s grace instantly enveloped me. I felt I was given a shield, a general anesthesia from God. My whole being became numb. So her oppressive spirit did not intimidate me nor offend my sensibilities. The flaming arrows of the evil one did not make any dent on my numbed being. In quiet confidence and divine peace, I listened respectfully without refuting her.
Our conviction and aim in life is to become better, not bitter; so we choose to stay calm and peaceful, knowing that it is a strategic weapon in neutralizing strife.
Building an intelligent emotion is our step toward becoming what God wants us to be.
As one battered by hurts and pains at a young age and being clueless on how to forgive and be forgiven, my life journey was visited by my pains in the past. I have seen the reality of what God revealed in the Bible: that past unresolved iniquities visited me to resolve them in humility and Divine grace. I have discussed this lengthily in the third window of my heart.
Pain is divine. It is a feeling, not an emotion. It is a significant element God designed in our system to trigger our defense mechanism when hurt.
For example, when something hot touches our skin, our impulse is to quickly withdraw from it. It is a quick reaction that God has designed in our being for our protection.
When there is pain in our body, it alerts us. That is its divine purpose. It tells us that something is wrong. Something is causing the pain, and it is tormenting. It should be so that we won’t ignore it. It triggers us to seek understanding and solution. Conerning physical issues, we consult a health professional. But triggers can come from deeper roots of our being beyond human omprehension. So we seek spiritual help. God is always accessible, He is our first soure of knowledge and wisdom, not the last one. He empowers us.
Feelings are for Discernment; Emotions are for Battle
In the spirit world, spirits existing there have distinct characteristics. God and His angels have distinct characteristics. Satan and his demons have distinct characteristics.
Divine Presence or the Presence Anointing
We cannot see God, but we can feel His Presence. God is spirit; we are also spirits, so we can feel His Spirit.
In fact, we can sense any spirit, either an angel or a demon. If God opens our spiritual eyes, we can see them.
The precursor to accurate discernment is the Divine Presence or Presence Anointing.
While reading Exodus, the Lord highlighted chapter 33:12-17, the Promise of God’s Presence. So I paused and prayed, asking God for His Presence with me. He did. Immediately, I felt the warmth of His Presence, brightening my mind with His countenance. With eyes open or closed, I have a vision and a feeling of an open heaven, a revelation of His tangible presence, which I call “the Presence Anointing.”
Praying for the Presence Anointing when we rise up in the morning and before bedtime is divine. Every time I pray it, there is an instant manifestation of God’s Presence upon me.
Mind talking and mind-listening to God
Prelude to my prophetic ministry, basking in God’s Presence became my constant aspiration. I mind-talk and mind-listen to God wherever I am, rooting my mind and heart in communing with God incessantly in every aspect of my daily thoughts. This developed into a divine mindfulness, becoming a daily routine. There were occasions when I felt like I was time traveling and going to places in spirit, like the experience of Ezekiel in chapter 8.
Reading scriptures as much as we can is also the pivotal catalyst in talking and listening to God. There, our spirit absorbs the particular commands, truths, and principles highlighted by the Lord. So in our prayer paradigm and breakthrough declarations, we adapt profound biblical phrases like prophetic utteranes, oracles, and verses that God puts into our mind.
Without the Presence Anointing, I find it hard to pray. For a moment, I grope for words. But with the mind and heart to pursue and persist in prayer, heaven opens. Divine light appears and darkness flees. Revelation flows like a river of life. Yes, the game changer is the Divine Presemce Anointing.
Exodus 33:12-17
12 Then Moses said to the LORD, “Look, You have been telling me, ‘Lead this people up,’ but You have not let me know whom You will send with me. Yet You have said, ‘I know you by name, and you have found favor in My sight.’
13 Now if indeed I have found favor in Your sight, please let me know Your ways, that I may know You and find favor in Your sight. Remember that this nation is Your people.”
14 And the LORD answered, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”
15 “If Your Presence does not go with us,” Moses replied, “do not lead us up from here.
16 For how then can it be known that Your people and I have found favor in Your sight, unless You go with us? How else will we be distinguished from all the other people on the face of the earth?”
17 So the LORD said to Moses, “I will do this very thing you have asked, for you have found favor in My sight, and I know you by name.”
The Physical World is Symbolic of the Spirit World
Our physical body is symbolic of our spirit. This, I learned with my wife in the battleground. The pain and illnesses we had to go through were our learning moments. They were divine opportunities for us to seek God’s instructions honing in on our abilities to intuitively and cognitively distinguish, locate, and identify spirits and issues, in order to neutralize them.
As a result, prison doors are opened. Captives are set free. Mourners are comforted. Instead of heaviness beause they have received the oil of joy, praise is their garment. They are called Trees of Righteousness. Builders of God’s Kingdom on earth.
The Human Spirit
Spiritual warfare is not only battling evil spirits; it is also dealing with human spirits who are in darkness. And this is the toughest part.
As warriors, we could roar as lions against demons in the spirit realm; but in the physical realm, we come as lambs—as peacemakers—bearing spiritual fruits.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, Gal.5:22 NKJV
A badly hurt and unforgiving person, living in a shelf of bitterness is chained in darkness. It is his/her spirit that needs deliverance and healing. Rebuking the demon of bitterness is easy; but because of the unforgiving heart and mind, the demon comes back. And he may come back with other demons. To prevent demons from coming back, relentless prayer covering is needed. What is crucial is the Healing Anointing breaking the yoke—the yoke of bitterness and unforgiveness enslaving the mind and heart. But what would make an impact in this ministry is our Fruit of the Spirit. Feeding a bitter person with the spiritual fruits, that would be the game changer.
From Trial to Training
Trials serve as our boot camps. They are avenues for training.
In any adversity, instead of going into self-pity, crying, and pleading with God to solve the problem for us, the first thing we should pursue is to get a divine revelation. Hear His voice.
It may not be an instant revelation. It could be a long journey waiting on the Lord, aligning our will to His Will—learning, seeing God more than seeing ourselves. Walking on water or on thorny ground. Experiencing the power of His Word—the logos and rhema word. Knowing Him as He reveals Himself.
In any adversity, God trains us for war, we cannot win it alone. We must have and move in the Lord’s anointing. He empowers us. He gives us the revelation: the order of battle, wisdom, weapons, time, place, and the strength to win. Also crucial as vessels for victory is the attitude of our heart and our character, aligned with God.
But God does not wait for us. Even with our flaws and imperfections, He brings us to the battlefield. There, we will be sanctified. Changed. Transformed.
As long as we live, there is always a battle. Not neessarily our own battles, but the battles of others, the battles of the Lord!
